Call for speakers at Qld VET teaching conference

Call for speakers at QLD VET teaching conferenceThe Queensland Department of Education and Training is seeking expressions of interest for conference sessions at the VET Teaching Conference 2010 which will be held in Brisbane on 20-21 May.

To reflect the aims and overall theme of the conference, which is VET inclusion-a celebration of culture and diversity, the Department is inviting interested people (teachers, trainers, managers, support staff and key stakeholders) to submit ideas for conference sessions based on the following five conference sub-themes:

  • Diversity in the VET game-no two days are the same!
  • Working with all learners-everyone's needs are different.
  • Contemporary VET learning-strategies for now and the future.
  • Assessment for learning-revitalising the link between assessment and learning.
  • International VET-there's something in it for everyone.

The Department would like to move away from formal conference presentations towards sessions that are innovative, interactive and engaging and is not simply asking for papers or abstracts.

The expressions of interest for speakers must be submitted before 26 February 2010.
